If I Was in Charge of this Organization, Strategies, Tactics and Actions that I Would Use to Encourage More Sustainability

Spreading sustainability involves leadership, partnerships, and communication. If I was in charge of Saba’s Destination Management Organization, I would create a sustainability handbook for others to easily obtain and follow as a guide. I would also create partnerships with other islands, alone a DMO does not have many resources. But "partnering is a good way to extend the impact of these resources by teaming up with others" (Morrison, 2013, p. 190). A partnership with other DMOs will spread nature conservation and show other DMOs that Eco-tourism is profitable as well as beneficial for the environment. I would also launch a new website that is user friendly, "websites are now unquestionably the principal communications platform for most DMOs" (Morrison, 2013, p. 339). Higher quality ICTs (information and communication technologies) will show the world that Saba has embedded sustainability into their culture, and other destinations can follow in their footsteps.
